Departing from Santiago's fort, the trail follows the west coast of Sesimbra.

After the harbor, it raises the cliff and reaches the fantastic Ribeira do Cavalo beach. It then goes through hills of Pinheirinhos, with views to wild beaches as Mijona.

Nearby is Lapa do Fumo, a cave systematically occupied for about five millennia.
